UNLV Now Stadium and Event Center
UNLV officials proposed a 60,000-seat domed venue, UNLV Now Stadium and Event Center, with the world’s largest indoor video screen for events such as college football games, UFC fights, concerts, music festivals and Monster Jam, located on the UNLV campus and are projected to cost between $800 and $900 million. The mega-events center is the integral piece of a campus redevelopment project. The plan includes increasing campus parking from approximately 12,000 to approximately 23,500 spaces; this will also help relieve congestion on campus during the academic week. Additionally, proposers said the stadium will attract 15 new events each year, bringing in $393 million in new revenue.
Tivoli Village
The $700 million European-style Tivoli Village has 225,000 square feet of boutique stores and restaurants and 145,000 square feet of office space. The second phase is expected to be finished by the 2014 holiday season. A third phase of residential development has been shelved indefinitely. The developer of Tivoli Village also plans to break ground soon on Las Vegas Renaissance, a 700,000-square-foot enclosed shopping mall in western Las Vegas. The $350 million Renaissance mall will begin construction after completion of Tivoli Village’s 500,000-square-foot second phase and is targeted for the 2015 holiday season. It will connect to Tivoli via a walkway over Alta Drive.
